About Good Buy Clothes
Founded in 1994, The Founders!
Sister Maura Murphy and Sister Celeste Dempsey of the Ursuline Sisters, an Order of the Roman Catholic Church, are dedicated to our non-profit Christian Outreach Program. This initiative aims to assist our coastal communities, including Point Arena, in meeting their basic needs, such as clothing. One of the ways we support this mission is through Good Buy Clothes, our Thrift Shop that provides affordable clothing options.
Run by Volunteers
GBC is staffed by volunteers from the Ek, CA to Point Arena and Stewart's Point communities. These dedicated volunteers serve at their discretion, committing to the mission of Good Buy Clothes, which focuses on providing quality clothing through our Thrift Shop.
Serving the Coastal Community
Profits from the monthly sales at Good Buy Clothes, a thrift shop located in Point Arena, are donated to charities of the Southern Mendocino Coast. Since our founding in 1994, we have contributed over $591,000 to these worthy causes.

How Are Your Donations / Purchases Used?
All net proceeds from our sales at Good Buy Clothes and direct donations remain for use in our local communities, including Point Arena. Our volunteers generously donate their time to sort, lightly clean as needed, prepare clothing items for sale, and work on sales dates at our thrift shop. Some of our expenses are for building rental and utilities; however, all donations go directly to local charitable organizations.
